Traveling pavilion mixes art, fashion in Hong Kong, Yazzy's at www.williamverdult.com

According to Reuters Life! in HONG KONG  - A curved, UFO-shaped art pavilion designed by top architect Zaha Hadid has landed in Hong Kong on the first leg of a two-year global promotional tour for art inspired by luxury goods brand Chanel.

The "Mobile Art" pavilion -- a fluid, white creation by Hadid modeled along spiraling shapes found in nature -- will feature interpretations of Chanel's quilted handbag.

The setup will showcase the work of a range of top contemporary artists including Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki, India's Subodh Gupta, and Yoko Ono.

"I think through our architecture, we can give people a glimpse of another world, and enthuse them, make them excited about ideas," Hadid said in a statement.

The pavilion was set up on the roof of a downtown Hong Kong car park, surrounded by some of the city's iconic skyscrapers.

Hong Kong is the launch spot for the exhibition, which will move around the globe over the next two years. Its next stop will be Tokyo.

"It's a completely weird architectural project because it's the first building in the world which will travel, which will circulate and which is nomadic," said Fabrice Bousteau, the curator of Mobile Art Exhibition.
