Spanish art conquers Palermo, Yazzy's at www.williamverdult.com

01_mostre_palermo--200x150.jpgAccording to Italy Golden Nation - Rome - The city of Palermo is paying tribute to Spanish Art through one of the most important exhibits set up in the last decades. The exhibit is a journey into the Spanish art scenario of the second half of the 20th century and narrates the passage from modern art to contemporary art and its artistic research. This passage began in 1957, the year the “El Paso” group was founded and this exhibit in Palermo begins from this historical art date.

The exhibit ‘España 1957-2007’ is scheduled to begin on May 18th at Palazzo Sant’Elia and seventy artists, from Manual Millares to Antonio Saura, from Pablo Serrano to Rafael Canogar, will narrate the Spanish contemporary art scene of the second half of the 20th century through their masterpieces.

The year 1957 is set as the reference period for this artistic turnover in the Spanish art scenario and so the exhibit includes works by Pablo Picasso, Joan Mirò, Salvador Dalì, artists who were capable of changing with the tide and so whose works continued to represent a reference point for the next generations. The contemporary art masterpieces on exhibit are not assembled in a chronological order but they are collected in five sections aimed at underlining theme affinity and style consonance among the artists belonging to different generations and art trends.
